Lindsay Rehmann is a passionate educator and seasoned performer based in the Florida Keys. A lifelong musician, she plays multiple instruments but is best known for her guitar playing and powerful vocals. Lindsay performs regularly throughout the Keys with her band Generation Gap, voted Best Band in the Upper Keys in 2024.
In addition to her work as a live musician, Lindsay is a dedicated teacher with Monroe County Schools, current teaching at Coral Shores High School. She brings the same energy and enthusiasm to the classroom that she does to the stage—believing that learning and teaching go hand in hand. Her approachable style and genuine love for music make her a favorite among students of all ages and experience levels.
Whether she's helping a beginner pick up their first instrument or guiding a more advanced student toward performance readiness, Lindsay is committed to helping each student reach their personal goals and build confidence through music.
With nearly 40 years of professional experience, I’ve performed thousands of shows across venues ranging from backyards to major amphitheaters, supporting and working with countless acts. I’ve co-written, recorded, and performed on more than seven published records, with additional guest appearances on compilations and private projects. In the Florida Keys over the last seven years, I’ve played with nearly every well-known local group.
As a clinician’s aid and master tech, I’ve had the privilege of working directly with world-renowned artists such as Dave Weckl, Tommy Aldridge, Mike Mangini, Mike Portnoy, Gregg Bissonette, Raul Rekow & Karl Perazza (Santana), Anthony “Zoro” Zorelli, and Debbie Zildjian
Though drums have been my foundation, I also perform professionally on guitar, often switching instruments mid-set. For me, teaching is about sharing the joy of music—helping students of all ages discover the language, art, and freedom of making music. If you can walk and chew gum, you can jam!
Femi, from Cameroon and Native American roots, embraced music early, joining her family's band and Andrew Cacho's African Drummers and Dancers in D.C. Mentored by legends like Babatunde Olatunji, her musical journey flourished alongside her academic pursuits at Bowie State and Howard University.
She founded Motherland African Drummers and Dancers, performed at notable events like the 1993 Presidential Inaugural, Dance Africa, and Ghana's "Year of the Return".
Femi directed a traveling drumming troupe, conducted workshops in Monroe County, and now enriches students as a bucket drumming facilitator with Total Team J.O.Y.
Recognized with a Congressional award, she passionately educates and inspires through music.
